Why would you have to erase it in the first place?

Well, there's always the treason route, where we'd be forced to have our memories wiped and the team having to be separated. But that's not likely to happen here, so that's a moot point.

If, for whatever reason, I know something that any of our enemies desperately need to have, and somehow ambush and capture us, that would be the right time to erase my memory so that that sensitive information doesn't fall into their hands. That's actually pretty standard for our military.

Oh yeah, I think one of you guys mentioned that to me once. It's kinda... sad.
