You were summoned by whatever power that this sentient island possesses and there is a barrier that surrounds this main island as well as the smaller outer ones that prevents all forms of escape possible. Any means of attacking this barrier will backfire as you've already experienced.

No known exact location is known of this island but being able to summon people from parallel worlds is one of many things that has my interest about it.
