[ Hey, see that on the ground? It's two tickets to that thing you love-- no, wait. It is that thing you love. Or that precious thing you thought went missing a month ago. Or something really valuable that you like or want, like money, or if you're a sensible islander, like soap. Let's just say it's something your character may really want.
WHATEVER IT IS, it moves slightly out of reach when you go to grab it.
And again.
And again.
What do you do? ]

Date: 2010-04-07 09:57 am (UTC)And as I said, I won't stop until you accept my existence, or you deny everything successfully. So this might be a long game. [ cackle ]

Date: 2010-04-08 09:06 pm (UTC)It probably will be. I don't like giving out the full deduction until I have the full story, after all.
no subject
Date: 2010-04-08 09:17 pm (UTC)... Naturally. Sure, you could work out bits and pieces along the way, but there's always a chance that something will happen by the end that cracks your theory into tiny pieces.
no subject
Date: 2010-04-08 09:21 pm (UTC)Or something at the end provides the piece that can put all the pieces together.

...
There is always a conclusion on the surface. Be it 'a witch did it' or a simplified version of the murder.
But I don't want the surface. I want the whole thing, surface, bottom, and all in between.
Isn't that the truth you'd want to be found? To be beaten by anything else would be an insult, wouldn't it?
1/2
Date: 2010-04-08 09:38 pm (UTC)2/3, whoops.
Date: 2010-04-08 09:41 pm (UTC)3/3
Date: 2010-04-08 09:53 pm (UTC)To be defeated and killed with anything less would be a shame to all my predecessors, and to my game! But don't you dare take that as me begging for loss or defeat!
Re: 3/3
Date: 2010-04-08 09:59 pm (UTC)I doubt you'd ever beg for defeat. The motivation is often the hardest thing to deduce, unless it's painfully obvious. And even then, sometimes that can be a distraction from the real motivation.
I won't consider it a true victory unless I can find out that whole truth, the how, and the why. For both you and the murderer.
no subject
Date: 2010-04-08 10:26 pm (UTC)Then your true victory will be hard to pursue. Even I cannot guarantee all the answers lie within the games I've played so far. Never forget you're playing with a witch, and we fight with dirty tricks even the gods aren't above using. How fun, to fight again with someone who wishes to prove my innocence!
... So don't waste any time with that homework of yours. Come and find me when you think you know the answer. You're making me eager to hand over the third and fourth pieces, but I won't give them to you if you don't win! [ cackle! ]
no subject
Date: 2010-04-08 10:54 pm (UTC)Of course they do. [Chuckles.] Though the last god I met played a very dirty trick, so no one would realize what he was really doing so easily, but examining those tricks will help in revealing that full truth I aim to get. Even if I have to play longer than your other opponents.
I never waste time when it comes to a mystery. I'll definitely come find you when I know the full trick.

Date: 2010-04-08 11:13 pm (UTC)You know where to look. Come to this garden or mansion and I'll most likely be here.
I now get to totally bullshit magic tricks. Woo~!
Date: 2010-04-08 11:23 pm (UTC)I'll come visit in a few days. [So very confident.]
It's what makes Umineko so fun!!
Date: 2010-04-08 11:32 pm (UTC)I'll be waiting for a splendid, reckless answer. [ Very confident right back at you. ]
Gotta stretch that logic to it's limit!
Date: 2010-04-08 11:43 pm (UTC)It's never a reckless answer. That would mean I have no confidence except desperate hope.
((OOC: Read subtitle at 1:20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVE0AyXT48A&feature=related))
Who needs logic when you have WITCHES-- I mean yes of course.
Date: 2010-04-08 11:55 pm (UTC)Fine, then a seamless answer that would pierce right through my heart if it were said in blue.
[ ooc; ... HAHAHAHA yes. Delicious, ironic awesome. ]
That makes me think LOGIC WITCHES! Which sounds like a band name, honesstly.
Date: 2010-04-09 12:02 am (UTC)Heh, then it's probably the best I can't use the Blue. To become a killer proving someone else isn't one is definitely unacceptable.
((OOC: I laughed when I read it. Especially when I just clicked the video randomly.
And that's why Conan will never adhere solely on Knox's rules.))
... reminded me of the CD art with Beato in a rock band.
Date: 2010-04-09 12:21 am (UTC)... Kuhihihihihi. Indeed, I can't let myself be killed by you, either, so it's suitable that you don't have it. After all, we're playing for fun and banter. Not my life. [ Said as if back home is an incredibly different story. Which it is. ]
[ ooc; There's no commandment about the magic of truth and love, it's all good-- ]
Beato would make an awesome lead vocalist for Logic Witches. Complete with cackles.
Date: 2010-04-09 08:24 pm (UTC)And that's why it should never be cost anyone their life. It's never fun and games as soon as someone dies. [Shrugs.] Using scenarios of death that have already happened and when I'm trying to prove you are innocent are, of course, different enough to not test what I can allow myself to enjoy more casually. [He does make note on how Battler may be trying to kill her, but will wait for more of the story.]
((OOC: Well, there is about love interests, and that's part of it for him. DC likes breaking Knox's rules a lot.))
Her VA is an amazing singer, so I don't doubt it *A*
Date: 2010-04-09 09:17 pm (UTC)Killing a witch and killing a human are two different things, naturally... but you still see me as Beatrice the human, don't you? I don't doubt that you'll never desire to kill me-- against your morals, right detective? --but erasing the illusion of the witch is the same as killing me. On the game board back home, at least.
[ ooc; Umineko probably will too, once we get the conclusive answer arc.
Especially if the horrifying 'Battler is the culprit' theory has merit. ]Is she? *Wonders if there's the cackle in a Beato image song.* That'd be win.
Date: 2010-04-09 09:38 pm (UTC)Killing is killing, be it a witch or a human. And yes, I still see you as Beatrice the human. I could never kill a human and I refuse to let one die while I can help them, no matter what they've done. Though a metaphorical death is far more bearable.
((OOC: Well, they even have part of the riddle be about love, so clearly it has to break it.
Make the detective the culprit. Maybe by making Knox obviously broken, that's what they're implying.))Beato's doesn't, sadly-- but... George's does, ironically. *links it below*
Date: 2010-04-09 09:50 pm (UTC)Metaphorical, literal, whatever wording you choose, in the world of witches that I fight Battler in, those words mean the same thing. Witches can be torn to shreds by red and blue as much as humans can be maimed to a pulp with a machete or baseball bat... but that's not something you'll accept, so it's all useless to explain.
[ ooc; I'm just expecting Ryukishi to backhand his entire fanbase by the end of the whole series with some seriously WHAT stuff. He's been saying in interviews that there's a really dirty trick to the mysteries that hasn't been unveiled yet. /sobs
And the image song! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dP896Z370Oo) ]
Maybe that's a hint that he's the witch?
From:... well with some theories I wouldn't be surprised!
From:Might be why they're never the second twilight.
From:Probably! That's the foothold for the arguments I've seen.
From:George is faking his death~!
From:And has inside ties with all the servants--!
From:He seemed like such a polite young man.
From:He must've gotten lessons from Takano.
From:Oh Takano, you and spreading your special brand of crazy.
From:George just couldn't resist visiting Hinamizawa for a festival--
From:It would explain so very, very much.
From:... also the reason he has a TOMITAKE FLASH shirt.
From:...which makes me think he's secretly Tomitake and Takano's child!
From:... OH GOD HE EVEN LOOKS LIKE TOMITAKE.
From:HE DOES! ...though i'm not sure about timeline wise if that'd work.
From:Perhaps a time machine is involved.
From:Well, if there's a time traveling god....
From:... I wouldn't put it past Ryukishi.
From:...neither would I.
