[The note ends with some instructions on how to find its writer. If you choose to follow them you’ll come across a not overly happy demon who isn’t wet, but shivering and soaked – there’s only so much wings can do as a shield against the rain :(]

Saying neither the truth nor lying is the point. That way you can say or chose not to say a lot, even to yourself.

But why? Isn't it stupid to lie to yourself? I could see lying to other people, but you're you. If you can't accept yourself, who can?

[shrugs] Nobody, probably. The point is, sometimes people lie to themselves because it makes living with themselves easier. You know, things like "It's not my fault", "Nobody could've known that it'd turn out like that" or "I don't mind it".

It's a very vicious circle once you get into one. It's best not to try and think about it too hard. All you can possibly get is a headache.

If people were more honest, then there'd be a lot less bad.

That's something that everyone has to find out for themself. Sometimes knowing the truth can do great damage. On other occasions it can be a saving grace. [giving you a bemused look] Are you sure that you want to talk with a demon about something like this?

...I suppose it can, but people should at least be completely honest with themselves. Even if they can't be with other people....

Oh, I don't know. Most people back where I come from would probably call me a bad person, though I don't think that I'm one. Being a demon is just part of it. I could a really bad guy who pretends to be good in order to get what he wants.
