[ Hey, see that on the ground? It's two tickets to that thing you love-- no, wait. It is that thing you love. Or that precious thing you thought went missing a month ago. Or something really valuable that you like or want, like money, or if you're a sensible islander, like soap. Let's just say it's something your character may really want.
WHATEVER IT IS, it moves slightly out of reach when you go to grab it.
And again.
And again.
What do you do? ]

Date: 2010-04-07 08:37 am (UTC)[ A moment of serious deliberation. Then back to her usual, smug smile. ] A question. Not a riddle or a hint to the mystery, but an honest question for you. Right now, it's too soon to ask, but I will ask you when you know enough to understand the rules of the game I play back home.
[ ooc; BEST BUSH EVER. ]

Date: 2010-04-07 08:41 am (UTC)...all right. Then I'll wait. You do certainly know how to make someone curious though.

Date: 2010-04-07 08:55 am (UTC)So it's natural for a witch. You could call it another one of those things all witches have.

Date: 2010-04-07 09:17 am (UTC)I'm not a writer, though. A storyteller weaves their tale for the enjoyment of others. If you could call Rokkenjima a crafted story and me the one with the pen, I can assure you that I wouldn't write for that reason.
[ ooc; Ack, sorry for so many edits! ]

Date: 2010-04-07 09:21 am (UTC)A story to convince people to believe in witches, it could be quite popular with enough skill.
no subject
Date: 2010-04-07 09:24 am (UTC)Exactly. And then, with enough skill, it could become that personal truth we discussed earlier.

Date: 2010-04-07 09:45 am (UTC)... oh well. I suppose it's not any new theory. But I won't write to prove myself, that's boring, and anyone can pick up a fantasy novel and close it, knowing it never really happened! I'll prove myself through my actions. A direct method is favorable for this kind of situation.

Date: 2010-04-07 09:50 am (UTC)More of a metaphor than a theory. [Shrugs.] But I'll know you'll keep trying to prove yourself. That is the game.
no subject
Date: 2010-04-07 09:57 am (UTC)And as I said, I won't stop until you accept my existence, or you deny everything successfully. So this might be a long game. [ cackle ]

Date: 2010-04-08 09:06 pm (UTC)It probably will be. I don't like giving out the full deduction until I have the full story, after all.
no subject
Date: 2010-04-08 09:17 pm (UTC)... Naturally. Sure, you could work out bits and pieces along the way, but there's always a chance that something will happen by the end that cracks your theory into tiny pieces.
no subject
Date: 2010-04-08 09:21 pm (UTC)Or something at the end provides the piece that can put all the pieces together.

...
There is always a conclusion on the surface. Be it 'a witch did it' or a simplified version of the murder.
But I don't want the surface. I want the whole thing, surface, bottom, and all in between.
Isn't that the truth you'd want to be found? To be beaten by anything else would be an insult, wouldn't it?
1/2
Date: 2010-04-08 09:38 pm (UTC)2/3, whoops.
Date: 2010-04-08 09:41 pm (UTC)3/3
Date: 2010-04-08 09:53 pm (UTC)To be defeated and killed with anything less would be a shame to all my predecessors, and to my game! But don't you dare take that as me begging for loss or defeat!
Re: 3/3
Date: 2010-04-08 09:59 pm (UTC)I doubt you'd ever beg for defeat. The motivation is often the hardest thing to deduce, unless it's painfully obvious. And even then, sometimes that can be a distraction from the real motivation.
I won't consider it a true victory unless I can find out that whole truth, the how, and the why. For both you and the murderer.
no subject
Date: 2010-04-08 10:26 pm (UTC)Then your true victory will be hard to pursue. Even I cannot guarantee all the answers lie within the games I've played so far. Never forget you're playing with a witch, and we fight with dirty tricks even the gods aren't above using. How fun, to fight again with someone who wishes to prove my innocence!
... So don't waste any time with that homework of yours. Come and find me when you think you know the answer. You're making me eager to hand over the third and fourth pieces, but I won't give them to you if you don't win! [ cackle! ]

From:I now get to totally bullshit magic tricks. Woo~!
From:It's what makes Umineko so fun!!
From:Gotta stretch that logic to it's limit!
From:Who needs logic when you have WITCHES-- I mean yes of course.
From:That makes me think LOGIC WITCHES! Which sounds like a band name, honesstly.
From:... reminded me of the CD art with Beato in a rock band.
From:Beato would make an awesome lead vocalist for Logic Witches. Complete with cackles.
From:Her VA is an amazing singer, so I don't doubt it *A*
From:Is she? *Wonders if there's the cackle in a Beato image song.* That'd be win.
From:Beato's doesn't, sadly-- but... George's does, ironically. *links it below*
From:Maybe that's a hint that he's the witch?
From:... well with some theories I wouldn't be surprised!
From:Might be why they're never the second twilight.
From:Probably! That's the foothold for the arguments I've seen.
From:George is faking his death~!
From:And has inside ties with all the servants--!
From:He seemed like such a polite young man.
From:He must've gotten lessons from Takano.
From:Oh Takano, you and spreading your special brand of crazy.
From:George just couldn't resist visiting Hinamizawa for a festival--
From:It would explain so very, very much.
From:... also the reason he has a TOMITAKE FLASH shirt.
From:...which makes me think he's secretly Tomitake and Takano's child!
From:... OH GOD HE EVEN LOOKS LIKE TOMITAKE.
From:HE DOES! ...though i'm not sure about timeline wise if that'd work.
From:Perhaps a time machine is involved.
From:Well, if there's a time traveling god....
From:... I wouldn't put it past Ryukishi.
From:...neither would I.
